HTML,XHTML AND XML.
Originally when the Web was created the language used to write for it was HTML(Hypertext Markup Language). It provides a means to describe the structure of text-based information in a document by denoting certain text as links, headings, paragraphs, lists, and so on and to supplement that text with interactive forms, embedded images, and other objects. HTML became XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language), and the platforms used for webpage development became even more sophisticated.
ASP.NET
Microsoft have just released Visual Web Developer 2008 Express. It uses XHTML to design the webpage but also uses Visual Basic or C# to provide additional subtlety. Many of the pages can be written without involving any coding at all!
ASP.NET (Active Service Pages) began in 2001 by Microsoft and quickly cascaded through Version 1.0 to 2.0. The latest version is 3.5, and is used in Visual Web Developer 2008 Express, which, complete with the new Java extensions, has moved the development into a new era.
If you want to produce a website that shows this sophistication you will need a programmer/developer. Please look no further, at Visual Basic UK we have years of experience in .NET development.
